Who am I sharing my May goals with you before the first week of May has passed?! While March and April felt a bit beyond my control, I think May might be the month where I gain some of that back. This month I’m trying to focus on filling my time with projects that feel more easily achieved, and I’m looking forward to what focusing on small change can do for me right now.

Here is what’s on my radar for this month!

On my calendar this month:

  • Our fertility clinic will reopen for IVF related procedures!

  • Putting our home back together after having our hardwood floors refinished last month - everything had to come out, so we’re taking our time and being intentional about what goes back in.

  • Our May decluttering weekend.

What I’m loving right now:

  • The ‘be there in five’ podcast - I’m not a huge podcast listener, but these long-form pop culture focused episodes sometimes feel like a peek into my own brain!

  • Scrunchies are apparently ‘back’, and honestly I’m ok with it! I bought this set and have really been enjoying the little bit of fun they seem to bring to my top knots now.

  • Our refinished hardwood floors. Friends, all the heart eyes for these! They are so good, and truly make our home feel almost brand new. Now, because they do look so good, it’s also really put the spotlight on some things that need to be touched up (I’m looking at you baseboard trim), so we’re spending a little bit of time refreshing those things before we finish up moving furniture back into our home. As my mom would say, if you’re going to do something, do it right!

May goals:

  • Put our home back together

  • Finish a quick little kitchen refresh

  • Share my Beautycounter AM and PM skin care routines here and on Instagram

  • Plant dahlia tubers and veggies

  • Refresh my closet for spring and summer weather

  • Set a weeding schedule for the garden

  • Call one friend each week of the month to catch up

  • Meditate for at least 10 minutes per day three times a week

  • Try showering at night as a way to wind down and relax before bedtime

  • Shift our eating habits back to cooking instead of eating out by cooking four nights per week at home

As a reminder, many of these monthly goals are directly related to my overall goals for 2020!

Since it’s something I’m going to prioritize this month, let’s talk about how you’re keeping up with friends in this time of social distancing. How do you still prioritize those relationships when you can’t get together in person? And if you’re already separated from some of your friends by long distances, how are you prioritizing those relationships differently? I’d love to hear from you!
